My Weekend

I'm Emir, and I'm 14. On Saturdays, I usually hang out with my friends at the mall. We sometimes go to the cinema. I love watching action films. On Sundays, I play the guitar for two hours. I'm keen on rock music, but I can't stand jazz. I rarely go shopping with my parents because I find it boring.

What do teenagers do in their free time?

Our school magazine asked 100 eighth graders about their free time. 45 students said they usually chat with friends online after school. 30 students prefer doing sports, and they think it's a great way to relax. Only 10 students read books regularly. Most students said reading is boring, but these 10 students love fantasy novels. The rest of the students often play video games. Many students think going to concerts is terrific, but tickets are expensive, so they rarely go.

Arya (14): I'm fond of fashion, and I love designing clothes. I often draw new ideas in my notebook. I think trendy clothes are fun, but I can't stand expensive brands.

Doruk (13): I prefer spending time outdoors. I go camping with my scout group once a month. I hate staying at home at the weekend; it's unbearable!

İlkim (14): I'm keen on music. I play the violin every day, and I usually listen to classical music. To be honest, I never listen to rap; I think it's ridiculous.
