A Family Meeting
The Aydın family live in a block of flats in Bursa. There are five people in the family: Mr and Mrs Aydın, their son Emre (15), their daughter Zehra (12) and Grandma Fatma.
Last month, there was some trouble in the family. Emre and Zehra share a bedroom, and they argued every evening. Emre wanted to study quietly, but Zehra was listening to music loudly. One evening, while they were arguing again, their father came home and heard them. So the family decided to have a family meeting.
At the meeting, everybody communicated calmly. They found a solution: Zehra now listens to music with headphones, and Emre studies in the sitting room after dinner. Now the brother and sister have a closer relationship.

Two Homes, Two Living Styles

Grandpa Moves In
Last year, Grandpa Hasan lived alone in his cottage in a small village. He used to work in his garden every day, but last winter he fell and hurt his leg. So the Yılmaz family invited him to live with them in their flat in Ankara.
At first, everybody was happy. However, after a few weeks, some problems appeared. Grandpa used to go to bed at 9 p.m., but the children were usually watching TV loudly at that time. Grandpa also missed his garden, and he felt bored in the flat. One evening, while Mrs Yılmaz was cooking dinner, Grandpa said sadly, "I want to go back to my village."
The family talked about the problems together. First, the children promised to watch TV quietly after 9 p.m. Then Mr Yılmaz bought some plant pots, and now Grandpa grows tomatoes and flowers on the balcony. Every Saturday, the children help him. Grandpa smiles a lot these days, and he tells the children stories about his village.
