Food Around the World
People in different regions of the world have different food cultures. In Japan, rice and fish are very common, and people often eat rice from small bowls. In Mexico, beans are an important part of many meals, and many dishes are hot, especially when they contain chilli peppers. Some religions have dietary laws, so people in those communities don't eat some foods. For example, Muslims don't eat pork.
Doctors recommend fresh vegetables, fruit and only a small amount of sugar for a healthy diet. If you eat a lot of fried food and sweets every day, you can put on weight. Healthy food and sport can help you lose weight.
