Lucía is from Peru, so she's Peruvian, and she speaks Spanish too. Emma is from Canada. She's Canadian, and she can speak English and French. Oliver is Australian, and his native language is English. Min-jun is from South Korea, and he speaks Korean. All my classmates can speak a little Turkish now!

Budapest is famous for its thermal baths, so today we're going to swim in warm water. The Parliament building is fascinating at night!

Then we went to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and saw ancient objects. Tomorrow, we're going to visit Ankara Castle and walk around the old streets.

A New Experience – Liam's Diary
29 October
Today was Republic Day in Türkiye. I'm Irish, and I'm an exchange student at a high school in Eskişehir this year. In the morning, there was a ceremony at school. Everybody stood in silence, and then we sang the National Anthem. I didn't know the words, but my classmate Mert helped me. Red flags with a white crescent and star were everywhere: on buildings, on buses and on balconies.
In the evening, Mert's family took me to the city centre. There were concerts and fireworks, and thousands of people were walking with flags.
At home in Ireland, our national day is St Patrick's Day on 17 March. People wear green clothes and watch parades in the streets. I love it, but today I felt something different. The people here were so proud of their country and their history. I think I understand Türkiye better now.
